Today I want to share with you my list of 5 books I want to read. There are more books I want to read but let’s be honest and keep it real: I don’t have that much time to read during the day and at night I am usually so tired that I fall asleep after reading about two pages. So let’s just start with 5 books 😉
Take Control of Your Life: How to Silence Fear and Win the Mental Game – Mel Robbins
I love Mel Robins. As someone who’s been dealing with anxiety on and off for two decades now her advise has helped me tremendously. I found her videos on YouTube and then listened to her book “The 5 Second Rule” which was super helpful for me. To realize that I can control my feelings and my life with a simple tool was a total eye opener. After she came out with her next book “Kickass” I bought that too. Not only do I love her message but also the fact that she’s very straight forward, real and honest. There’s no sugar coating and some adult language (in case you’re not into that). In 2019 she came out with her 3rd book “Take Control of Your Life: How to Silence Fear and Win the Mental Game” and of course I’ll buy that too.
Mel Robbins is back! The international bestselling phenomenon and creator of The Five Second Rule and Kick Ass with Mel Robbins returns to help you tackle the single biggest obstacle you face: fear. This life-changing Audible Original features a powerful mix of one-on-one life-coaching sessions and a personal narrative with vital take-aways that you can start using immediately.

Each session is a goldmine of discovery as Mel guides you to find your purpose, improve your relationships, and ultimately take control of your life. In these times of high anxiety, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed – that changes right now. If you want the tools to break free from fear and live to your fullest potential, this is a must-listen.
The Book of Awakening: Having the Life You Want by Being Present to the Life You Have – Mark Nepo
Philosopher-poet and cancer survivor, Mark Nepo opens a new season of freedom and joy–an escape from deadening, asleep-at-the wheel sameness–that is both profound and clarifying. His spiritual daybook is a summons to reclaim aliveness, liberate the self, take each day one at a time, and to savor the beauty offered by life’s unfolding. Reading his poetic prose is like being given second sight, exposing the reader to life’s multiple dimensions, each one drawn with awe and affection. The Book of Awakening is the result of his journey of the soul and will inspire others to embark on their own. Nepo speaks of spirit and friendship, urging readers to stay vital and in love with this life, no matter the hardships. Encompassing many traditions and voices, Nepo’s words offer insight on pain, wonder, and love. Each entry is accompanied by an exercise that will surprise and delight the reader in its mind-waking ability.
As I’ve already mentioned: I love Mel Robbins. I’ve started the year 2019 with Mel Robbins free 35 days long Mindset Reset program. During this program she recommended “The Book of Awakening”. This book seems to be a perfect addition to a morning routine. That is what I want to do. In his book Mark Nepo breaks down his wisdom into bite sized nuggets, one for each day of the year. How beautiful is that? I want to read one every morning and set myself up for a good mindset without becoming overwhelmed by too much information.

What’s in the Way Is the Way is the new book from this highly regarded teacher, offering practical guidance for meeting all of our experience with an abiding sense of ease, trust, and peace of mind.
This accessible book is divided into 10 phases, featuring inspiring wisdom and step-by-step exercises to heal the core beliefs that keep you stuck With each chapter, Mary invites you to come into the present and see yourself and your circumstances in a different way—with openness and curiosity, unclouded by struggle, judgment, and fear. By now you’ll probably see the pattern. I am into self development pretty much 😉 I bought my first self development book when I was about 15 years old. It was Shakti Gawain’s “Living in the Light: Follow Your Inner Guidance to Create a New Life and a New World”. I was fascinated by that stuff and have been ever since. Even though I don’t remember reading that much during my twenties I’ve never really lost interest in that topic. I mean who doesn’t want to become a better human and live a better life? I think we all want that!

Becoming Supernatural: How Common People Are Doing the Uncommon – Dr. Joe Dispenza
The author of the New York Times bestseller You Are the Placebo, as well as Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself and Evolve Your Brain, draws on research conducted at his advanced workshops since 2012 to explore how common people are doing the uncommon to transform themselves and their lives. Becoming Supernatural marries some of the most profound scientific information with ancient wisdom to show how people like you and me can experience a more mystical life. Readers will learn that we are, quite literally supernatural by nature if given the proper knowledge and instruction, and when we learn how to apply that information through various meditations, we should experience a greater expression of our creative abilities; that we have the capacity to tune in to frequencies beyond our material world and receive more orderly coherent streams of consciousness and energy; that we can intentionally change our brain chemistry to initiate profoundly mystical transcendental experiences; and how, if we do this enough times, we can develop the skill of creating a more efficient, balanced, healthy body, a more unlimited mind, and greater access to the realms of spiritual truth. Topics include: •Demystifying the body’s 7 energy centers and how you can balance them to heal •How to free yourself from the past by reconditioning your body to a new mind •How you can create reality in the generous present moment by changing your energy •The difference between third-dimension creation and fifth-dimension creation •The secret science of the pineal gland and its role in accessing mystical realms of reality •The distinction between Space-Time vs. Time-Space realities •And much moreUsing tools and disciplines ranging from cutting-edge physics to practical exercises such as a walking meditation, Dr. Joe offers nothing less than a program for stepping outside our physical reality and into the quantum field of infinite possibilities.
Dr. Joe Dispenza is another author I’ve discovered through a podcast. I’ve found the topic of his talk so fascinating that I want to dive deeper into it by reading his book.
