Today I want to share with you my list of 5 books I want to read. There are more books I want to read but let’s be honest and keep it real: I don’t have that much time to read during the day and at night I am usually so tired that I fall asleep after reading about two pages. So let’s just start with 5 books 😉

Take Control of Your Life: How to Silence Fear and Win the Mental Game – Mel Robbins

I love Mel Robins. As someone who’s been dealing with anxiety on and off for two decades now her advise has helped me tremendously. I found her videos on YouTube and then listened to her book “The 5 Second Rule” which was super helpful for me. To realize that I can control my feelings and my life with a simple tool was a total eye opener. After she came out with her next book “Kickass” I bought that too. Not only do I love her message but also the fact that she’s very straight forward, real and honest. There’s no sugar coating and some adult language (in case you’re not into that). In 2019 she came out with her 3rd book “Take Control of Your Life: How to Silence Fear and Win the Mental Game” and of course I’ll buy that too.

As I’ve already mentioned: I love Mel Robbins. I’ve started the year 2019 with Mel Robbins free 35 days long Mindset Reset program. During this program she recommended “The Book of Awakening”. This book seems to be a perfect addition to a morning routine. That is what I want to do. In his book Mark Nepo breaks down his wisdom into bite sized nuggets, one for each day of the year. How beautiful is that? I want to read one every morning and set myself up for a good mindset without becoming overwhelmed by too much information.

What’s in the Way Is the Way: A Practical Guide for Waking Up to Life – Mary O’Malley

By now you’ll probably see the pattern. I am into self development pretty much 😉 I bought my first self development book when I was about 15 years old. It was Shakti Gawain’s “Living in the Light: Follow Your Inner Guidance to Create a New Life and a New World”. I was fascinated by that stuff and have been ever since. Even though I don’t remember reading that much during my twenties I’ve never really lost interest in that topic. I mean who doesn’t want to become a better human and live a better life? I think we all want that!

I’ve discovered Agapi Stassinopoulos, the author of this book, through a podcast and became curious about her work. Since I would love to make meditation a regular practice this book of hers seems to be the perfect pick for me.

Dr. Joe Dispenza is another author I’ve discovered through a podcast. I’ve found the topic of his talk so fascinating that I want to dive deeper into it by reading his book.
